Ways To Give Back This Holiday Season

Image

The holidays are a time for connection, gratitude, and giving—and here in Central Oregon, our community truly shines when it comes to showing up for others. At Point Chiropractic, we believe that health goes beyond the adjustment table—it's also about supporting the wellbeing of our neighbors.

If you’re looking for meaningful ways to give back this season, here are six local nonprofits and community programs that are making a real impact in Bend and the surrounding area.

1. Point Chiropractic’s Thanksgiving Food Drive

From November 11th–22nd, we’re hosting our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of NeighborImpact.

✅ Goal: Collect 500 lbs of food

🎁 Give & Get: Bring in a food donation and receive a FREE exam or adjustment

It’s a simple way to care for your body and give back to local families in need. Swing by the clinic, drop off your donation, and help us make a difference this season!

2. Toys for Tots – Central Oregon

The classic holiday program is alive and well in Bend. Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to local kids who might otherwise go without a gift during the holidays. Donation bins pop up all around town—making it easy to give while you’re already out running errands or holiday shopping.

3. Giving Tree Programs at Local Businesses

Many Central Oregon businesses and community centers host Giving Trees where you can select a tag and purchase specific items for local children, seniors, and families in need. These wish lists range from toys to winter clothing to essential household supplies, making this a great hands-on way to support someone directly in our community.

4. REACH – Serving the Unhoused Community

REACH (Relationship, Empowerment, Action, Compassion, Heart) partners with volunteers and local businesses to serve individuals experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon. They provide mail delivery, medical access, transportation support, sleeping bags, tents, and essential supplies—especially important during cold Central Oregon winters. Volunteers and donations of gear are always needed this time of year.

5. NeighborImpact

In addition to supporting local food pantries, NeighborImpact helps Central Oregon residents navigate financial hardship, housing instability, and utilities assistance. They’re also a partner in the new permanent supportive housing project being built in Bend. Donations (both financial and material) help keep these vital programs running year-round.

6. Bend Family Kitchen

A long-standing local resource, Bend Family Kitchen provides hot, nutritious meals to community members multiple times a week. Volunteers can help prep meals, serve food, or package donations—and the kitchen also accepts grocery items and monetary contributions. If you enjoy hands-on service, this is a rewarding way to get involved.

A Community That Cares

Central Oregon is built on strong community values—and when we show up for one another, we all thrive. Whether you're donating food at the clinic, wrapping gifts from a Giving Tree tag, or spending a few hours volunteering, every act of generosity matters.

👉 Want to join our Food Drive? Stop by Point Chiropractic between November 11th–22nd, bring your food donation, and receive a FREE exam or adjustment as our way of saying thank you.
Let’s make this holiday season one of health, kindness, and community connection—Bend style.
